Middle Eastern Exposure: Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is preparing for companies investing in the country, by launching “six economic cities.” Have you heard about them? If yes, then you already know why it is worth to do business there. And if you don’t… Well, here’s some information for you.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of the six economic cities (Tabouk, Eastern Province, Hail, Medinah, Rabigh and Jazan) to enchance the competitiveness of the Saudi economy, to create new job opportunities, and to diversify the economy.

The cities will be developed by the private sector to generate major private investment opportunities in infrastructure, real estate and industry. By identifying and attracting core investors, main jobs will be created which will then spur other surrounding service-related jobs.

They will be developed around at least one globally competitive cluster or industry, which will serve as an anchor and a growth engine for the city, around which other businesses will be located.  Utilizing their greenfield opportunity will help them adopt state-of-the-art technology solutions in order to become truly competitive. The business friendly regulatory environment already attracts the core investors. The sectors of focus include agriculture, healthcare, education, tourism, logistics, mining, technology and the list could go on for a few more lines from here.
